Location: Oregon, United States

I was born in the late 1980s. I have a twin sister, who goes by Alayea on the 'Net. Over the years, I have used different 'Net-names. I think my first one was Leilani; which I am still known as in a couple of places. For the most part, I have settled on two names: Morncreek as my penname, and Ransom as my gamer's-name. (Topic: PSA - Courtesy Clerks)

Anyway, I have a PSA (Public Service Announcement) for anyone who may stumble upon this.

Treat Courtesy Clerks With Respect!

It is _not_ an easy job. I work hard to: know where every possible item in the store is located, what is currently in stock and what will be restocked shortly, keep everything clean so you can enjoy coming in and not break your neck from slipping or cut yourself, learn every stupid quirk of each bottle-returns machine (and those quirks are many!) in order to fix them quickly so that you don't have to stand around waiting - and if I cannot fix it I hand count your dusty/grimy/sticky/smelly plastic-can-glass containers, carefully bag your groceries so that nothing gets squished or hot put next to cold or cleaners with food AND while attempting to make sure you do not have to carry a lot of bags into your home, pop in the backroom to see if the store has a particular item that is out-of-stock on the shelf just to make sure that we indeed do not have any more at the time, and even to rid the mens' restroom of that awful you-know-what smell.

I also work hard to: keep a smile and positive attitude so I do not put a damper on your shopping experience, politely greet you and make you feel welcome, not curse at idiot customers who think _their_ time is worth more than anyone else, maintain a lookout for anyone who may need assistance and render assistance in a timely professional manner, and generally keep the Universe that is the grocery store Glued Together.

So please, when you see a courtesy clerk, let him/her know that you appreciate what they do. We may not be policemen or firemen, but we are still important. Thank you and have a great day! :)
